Ethics & Accountability

Integrity, dignity and accountability.

Integrity, dignity and accountability are fundamental to how SRD carries out its work.

You can raise a concern about our activities, services, staff, partners or representatives — safely, confidentially, and without giving your name.
Our Commitment

An accountability system that is safe, accessible and responsive.

SRD is committed to treating people affected by crisis with dignity and respect and to ensuring that they can safely ask questions, provide feedback and raise concerns about our activities, services, staff, partners and representatives. We aim to maintain an accountability system that is safe, accessible, confidential, inclusive and responsive.

01

Safeguarding People

Safeguarding is central to SRD’s responsibility to do no harm. SRD maintains zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment and child abuse. We are committed to protecting children, vulnerable people, community members, staff and others connected to our work from abuse, exploitation and other forms of harm.

02

Confidential Pathways

Sensitive safeguarding concerns are handled through confidential pathways, with attention to safety, dignity, informed consent, non-retaliation and the rights and wishes of affected people.

03

Protecting Resources & Acting with Integrity

SRD is committed to the honest, transparent and responsible use of humanitarian and organizational resources. We do not tolerate fraud, bribery or corruption. Concerns may include theft or misuse of resources, aid diversion, falsification of records, improper payments or kickbacks, procurement concerns, conflicts of interest or other misuse of funds, assets or assistance.

04

Human Resources & Workplace Conduct

SRD expects professional and respectful conduct in the workplace. Concerns about discrimination, harassment, bullying or intimidation, abuse of power or authority, retaliation, workplace violence, inappropriate staff conduct, conflicts of interest or other workplace concerns may be reported.

Speak Up

You do not need to know which policy applies.

If you experience, witness or become aware of a concern connected to SRD, we encourage you to tell us. You do not need to have proof before raising a concern. Share the information you have, and SRD will review it and direct it to the appropriate person or process.

Confidentiality & Non-Retaliation

SRD will handle complaint and feedback information carefully and limit access to authorized personnel who need the information to review or respond to the matter. SRD does not tolerate retaliation against a person for raising a concern or participating in a process in good faith.

You may submit a report without providing your name or personal contact information. If you would like SRD to respond directly or follow up with questions, please provide a way for us to contact you. Anonymous reports can be more difficult to review when additional information is needed.
