SRD establishes medical center in Bzagha, Syria

Designed to meet the medical needs of people in Syria, SRD established a health care center in Bzagha. This city was strategically chosen because of its central location and population of over 70,000 people. More than 7,000 people benefit from the center’s services every month, in addition to 80 natural births.

“The center did not reach what it is now until after a series of developments. It started as a primary care center at the beginning of July 2017, and after intensifying efforts specifically in March 2020, the center was expanded, and several services were activated.” – Mr. Taleb Ali, Director of The Baza’a Center

The center offers services through 64 employees, within the following clinic departments:

  • Women’s clinic
  • Obstetrics room
  • In-patient clinic
  • Children’s clinic
  • Nursing and dressing room
  • Laboratory
  • Free pharmacy
  • Mobile clinic, which serves 6 surrounding areas

The services provided by the center are subject to international standards of health in the event of disasters. Services provided include but are not limited to:

  • Reproductive health services and care for pregnant women before and after childbirth
  • Emergency obstetric care service
  • Health care for children and newborns
  • Monitoring chronic diseases
  • Nutrition and management of malnutrition

We aim through our facilities to provide services efficiently for the people of Syria while continuing to further develop these centers and create new facilities.
