SRD Provides Winter Care to Syrian Families in Need

In the 2018/2019 winter season, SRD worked in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), to provide winter aid to the people of Oorgania, located in Idlib, northern Syria. “The situation is very miserable,” said Amal Al-Khakaf, one of the displaced women from Sinjar. “There are 15 people in one tent without any heating equipment.”

Distributing IOM kits and winter clothes helps to alleviate the suffering imposed on the people by the war and the harsh winter. “Our teams provided to the villages of Hattan, Bouz Gar, Sardin and Maarat Al-shalaf, serving displaced and the most needy families,” said SRD shelter officer Hassan Hussein. “This was achieved in cooperation with the local councils of these villages.”

4,350 adults and more than 3,280 children received winter clothes through the winter care campaign. The number of beneficiaries of non-food items exceeded 1,200 families.
