Warm More Than Their Spirits

Bitter cold, snowstorms, freezing rain, and blizzards cause displaced people in camps to freeze to death each year in Syria. For most of us, that’s unimaginable. Having been forced to flee their homes while facing an 11 year protracted conflict in Syria, families are left with little to nothing. Shelter, heating fuel, food, water, and winter clothing are scarce.

For the past ten years, displaced Syrian families have barely made it through the winter, surviving in conditions of freezing rain, snowstorms, and floods. Poor housing conditions and mass displacements have meant that countless families are exposed to bitter winter conditions, without shelter and warm clothing. Over the past ten years, many children have frozen to death in the bitter cold.

To add to these dire conditions, the health of these affected populations has been impacted since the winter brings illness due to a lack of warmth, food, and shelter.

In order to address these dire needs in the winter, Syria Relief and Development’s humanitarian teams are on the ground delivering vital, life-saving services to respond to these pressing needs. Your donation can save lives this winter.
