Humanitarian Crisis in Idleb

$22,252 of $100,000 raised

Northwest Syria has been burning for months, Intensified Attacks and deadly airstrikes continue.
Civilians continue to die and several dozen people perish under the bombs every day. Averages of 300 civilians, including children are killed by the attacks each month.

Over 1,527,279 million have fled their homes and are displaced in camps. Clean water, nutrition, shelter, and healthcare are scarce.
More than 113 schools were completely destroyed affecting more than 191,233 students. And more than 67 health facilities, including our Pulse of Life hospital were completely destroyed.

SRD is providing primary health care services, chronic disease surveillance, psychological support, medicine, shelter, clean water, and nutritional baskets.
Our 12 mobile health clinics have provided care to over 15 camps. 25,500 beneficiaries, including 11,000 children, have been reached.

We are responding to their desperate call for help and hope and we continue to deliver lifesaving emergency relief. They urgently need our help.

Give help and hope.

Sharing and giving our blessings to the needy is one of the many essences of Islam.
During this year, we continue to create a positive impact in the lives of the less fortunate through our several projects in Syria.
Allah has made Zakat obligatory on us and the power to give is present inside each and every one of us.

Your Zakat can help the poor and destitute, those that have been forced to leave their homes.

Give your Zakat today.

Syria’s Education Crisis

$0 of $20,000 raised

Right now in Syria, over 1.75 million students are out of school, with an additional 1.4 million at increased risk of dropping out. Only 50% of students displaced in Northern Syria will have a chance to continue their high school educations due to nearly 25% of schools in the area being damaged, destroyed, or occupied.

Only 40% of high school students in Syria have an opportunity to pursue higher education to contribute to Syria’s future economic development.

Education is one of the most under-funded programs in Syria response; this is why Syria Relief and Development established educational projects. One of our projects is International University of Science & Renaissance (IUSR), formerly known as International Rescue University, which was established to address the specific need for secondary and higher education, as well as developmental education and training, inside of Syria. IUSR has also established two campus subsidiaries: Global High School and the Development and Training Center.

We believe that education will contribute to the country’s future economic growth and to local and global development.

Education is a right and not a privilege.

*Grants and Scholarships are available based on a student’s individual needs, grades, and vulnerability-level.

Our Education Projects:

International University of Science & Renaissance (IUSR) is a hybrid online and campus-based private, nonprofit institution. Approved to operate by the State of Kansas Secretary of State’s office on March 31, 2017 and the Syrian Interim Government on April 20, 2017, it provides a quality higher education to displaced Syrian students and others around the world.
IUSR provides clear and accurate information to all students and interested parties. IUSR works to promote a learning environment characterized by inclusiveness, value awareness, and an understanding of one another’s differences and similarities. It strives to treat everyone with dignity and respect. The university is committed to multiculturalism that makes its academic programs, educational services, and employment opportunities available to all
qualified individuals.

Tuition & Scholarships
Students at IUSR will pay a portion (15-30%) of $1200 per year. This is the cost per student, but tuition based on students’ individual needs, grades, displaced situation, family size, and level of vulnerability. When necessary, grants and scholarships will subsidize tuition.

Students who were forced to discontinue their university education as the conflict escalated will maintain the credits that they received prior to IUSR enrollment as they resume their coursework.
IUSR aims to support knowledge, enable students to develop skills and use modern technologies through their educational and training programs, and contribute to reducing the financial burden by offering scholarships in the different categories:

147 students were awarded scholarships (2017-2018) with a total value of: $140,520.

IUSR Subsidary:Global High School (GHS)

This subsidiary branch within IUSR was established to empower young people and help to restore pride and agency via a holistic approach to education. GHS provides equal opportunity avenues for continued education previously disrupted by ongoing violence, forced displacement,
restrictions on movement, and lack of internationally recognized education authority to function during and after conflict.
GHS implements a hybrid of onsite instruction of Syrian curriculum and virtual instruction of accredited American courses. GHS will grant certificates and teach the skills necessary for students to continue on to local and international universities and contribute uniquely to the eventual
reconstruction of Syria.

Medical Clinic – Jordan

The conflict in Syria has continued to force displaced families seeking protection and security southward to Jordan. Currently, over 1.4 million displaced Syrians in Jordan face poor living conditions. As a result, the provision of medical aid to displaced families in Jordan is a priority to SRD.

We believe that medical care is essential, and we strive to alleviate the suffering of the underserved by providing and facilitating free and affordable healthcare services.

Syria Relief and Development has established several healthcare centers, one of which is SRD Clinic in Amman, Jordan, providing healthcare based on international health standards services to 500 beneficiaries each month using the latest medical technologies.

Medical services including pediatrics, primary healthcare, internal medicine and dental care are provided by experienced physicians and specialized medical staff, available throughout the week.

Other key referral services for specialized care include: Gynecology, Ophthalmology , Neurosurgery, and Neurology

There remains a tremendous need, and our work is only limited by our resources and volunteers. Syria Relief and Development needs your continued support to help us provide high quality medical care for Syrians in need.

Help support those who have already suffered so much today.

Emergency Ambulance Network

Health care provision to Syrians displaced by the ongoing conflict is a critical and complex issue. Many displaced families fled their homes in already poor health and have since been further affected by trauma and a lack of basic human necessities.

Syria Relief and Development (SRD) has deployed a network of 21 ambulances to provide access to emergency healthcare and trauma services region-wide. The network provides patients in critical emergency care with transportation to trauma facilities, and EMTs provide life-sustaining treatment during transport. Ambulances are equipped with the latest modern medical equipment and the most experienced medical staff in the area. Specialties include care for premature babies, the elderly, and those with critical conditions, as well as patient transport between hospitals.

Approximately 1,400 patients are provided care by SRD’s Emergency Ambulance network each month. In 2018, 19,742 patients were served.

These ambulances serve as the front line for saving the lives of displaced Syrians in need of emergency healthcare services.

Giving Season

Displaced from their homes by a violent conflict, millions of displaced Syrian families are enduring poor living conditions. Parents left with their families in hopes of offering their children a future where they have a chance to survive, but it is hard for them to give their children basic life necessities after leaving their homes, belongings and past lives behind.
Their hearts remain strong, but they still need your urgent help in providing clean water, nutrition, and shelter.
Donate now to share your blessings.
