Donate NowSyria’s largest humanitarian need is access to quality healthcare. SRD strives to create a fundamental health system via our:
Community health programs.
Multilevel health network.
Continuum of care.
Syria Relief & Development strives to relieve suffering and plant the seeds of sustainable development through health programs that create a fundamental health system. Our healthcare system is driven by a comprehensive, preventative continuum of care, ensuring that patients receive services that address their physical and mental well-being.
With over 12.2 million people in need of health care in Syria, access to such services has never been more critical. The dangerous operational context of Syria—including attacks to health care facilities and health care workers — and increasing health needs of the population as a result of protracted crisis, and as of 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic, means that services must address immediate and complex needs through integrated services across the health continuum.
UMR’s Education and Livelihood focuses on refugee socioeconomic integration into destination countries, through language training, income-generating vocational training, and psychosocial support; all of which are aimed at helping destabilized and impoverished households achieve socioeconomic self-reliance.
Part of UMR’s mission is to give children all over the world the opportunity for a better future. We believe that through food security, education, psycho-social support, and a strong community, vulnerable children have a better chance at THRIVING as they grow up

Donate NowHealth care provision to Syrians displaced by the ongoing conflict is a critical and complex issue. Many displaced families fled their homes in already poor health and have since been further affected by trauma and a lack of basic human necessities.
Syria Relief and Development (SRD) has deployed a network of 21 ambulances to provide access to emergency healthcare and trauma services region-wide. The network provides patients in critical emergency care with transportation to trauma facilities, and EMTs provide life-sustaining treatment during transport. Ambulances are equipped with the latest modern medical equipment and the most experienced medical staff in the area. Specialties include care for premature babies, the elderly, and those with critical conditions, as well as patient transport between hospitals.
Approximately 1,400 patients are provided care by SRD’s Emergency Ambulance network each month. In 2018, 19,742 patients were served.
These ambulances serve as the front line for saving the lives of displaced Syrians in need of emergency healthcare services.

Help us give food, clean water, and medical assistance to displaced families in Syria who are living in dire conditions.
Deadly attacks on healthcare facilities and the COVID-19 pandemic have intensified the population’s already grave health needs as the crisis goes through its grim tenth year.
With over 12 million people in need of healthcare, access to such services has never been more critical. Dire economic conditions and food insecurity have led to exponential rates of malnutrition and starvation, affecting 6.2 million children.
SRD is devoted to providing essential, life-saving health and nutrition services to displaced Syrians. By directly supporting SRD’s efforts, such as the following, your contribution will help families affected by ten years of crisis receive vital services:
