Solar panels are used as a sustainable energy source for homes during shelter construction and repair at SRD’s operational sites in Syria. The panels provide energy when there are power outages.
Energy in Syria is extremely limited, and solar panels offer much-needed renewable energy that can be lifesaving when installed at medical facilities.
NFIs also include hygiene kits, winterization kits, and kitchen kits.
Teddy Bear Distributions
In 2015, SRD partnered with The Teddy Trust to give Syrian children in need teddy bears. Since then, we have distributed more than 35,000 teddy bears to Syrian children suffering from turmoil across the country. Teddy bears provide a way of comfort for children who may find it difficult to express their emotions to others. SRD hopes to collaborate with The Teddy Trust in the upcoming years to carry on giving healing to Syrian children.
SRD delivered NFI services to 79,109 people in 2021.
